The history of Kodak

In many people's minds, the name Kodak should appear on the mottled signboard of the alleyway printing shop. But Kodak is not only responsible for the production of films and photos. Like Fujifilm, Kodak is also very powerful in the chemical industry. Kodak has even used chemical coating technology in the past to invest heavily in battery manufacturing in recent years. As a result, it is reported that Kodak's film production capacity has been significantly affected.

Kodak RODFS70 film scanner features

So what are the functions of the Kodak RODFS70 film scanner? This film scanner can accept films up to size 135, and also supports smaller film sizes 110 and 126 and slide scanning.

As for the film type, you can choose color negative , B&W Negative and positive film. Just remember that if the color of the film is brown and the color is inverted (that mean it's unable to read) that will be color negative film (for the difference between negative film and positive film, please refer to this article).

Preparation before using film scanner

In order to prevent dust and fingerprint contamination, you need to prepare gloves and a blower before using the film scanner to ensure the quality of the scan. When picking up films, choose cotton gloves or food silicone gloves to avoid fingerprints, and the blower can blow away the dust inside the film scanner and on the film before scanning, reducing the workload in post-production. The most important thing is to prepare a formatted memory card so that the photos can be retained in the film scanner.

How to use the Kodak RODFS70 film scanner

When you enter the interface, you will see four options. From left to right, they are film type, USB upload, gallery and set dates & times.

If you don't need set up the dates or times, you can directly select film type. After entering, select the film type first and then select the film format. After the selection is completed, you can prepare the film for scanning.

Put the film into the film scanner. Here you can select the parameters to be adjusted. You can adjust the color parameters whatever you want, also you can press RBG to adjust the color. Press left and right to adjust the brightness. The interface is very intuitive and easy to operate. .

Is the Kodak RODFS70 film scanner easy/good to use?

The Kodak RODFS70 film scanner is mainly aimed at the entry-level home market, and its functions are generally relatively simple. The author has an Epson V500 film scanner. Although it can use more types of film, but the preparation and scanning times are relatively long during normal operation. If there is no need for professional post-production, and you just upload to social media for use. Kodak RODFS70 is a fine and easy use film scanner ~

I have been taking on projects since I was a student. In addition to two-dimensional photography such as product photography, event records, wedding records and food photography, I'm also good at video shoting and editing. Because I love film photography, so I often shoot videos on YouTube and Instagram to share my experiences.

The training in design and aesthetics allows me to quickly observe and start shooting. From video shot to film photography, events to product photography, when I faced with challenging cases and content, I always face them head-on and insist on doing my best.

Photography is not only a job or career, that is my attitude and my lifestyle!
